Overview
Truro and Penwith College are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Industry Engagement Consultant to help strengthen partnerships between the College and Cornwall’s thriving construction sector. This exciting role will support the delivery of the Construction Teacher Industry Exchange and Construction Skills Package Industry Placement programmes, funded by the Department for Education and managed by Cornwall Council.
Working closely with employers, students and curriculum teams, you will develop and maintain industry relationships, coordinate work placements and industry immersion activities, organise employer engagement events, and support the growth of construction training opportunities across Cornwall.
We are looking for a confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills, commercial awareness, knowledge of Cornwall’s construction industry, and a passion for supporting learners and employers to succeed. Experience of employer engagement, training, education, placements or business development would be advantageous.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Exceptional customer service and partnership-building skills
- Strong communication, presentation and organisational abilities
- Knowledge of education and training programmes, including Apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps and T Levels
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- A proactive, results-focused approach to employer engagement
- Access to their own transport and willingness to travel throughout Cornwall
