“If you enjoy sport, Truro & Penwith is probably the best College you can come to. It has a lot of facilities and the teachers are very helpful.”

My story:
Upon leaving school, Callum knew early in his decision making that Truro College was at the top of his list. He joined the Cricket Academy alongside the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport to further his studies and play a sport he enjoys.
Callum said: “If you enjoy sport, Truro & Penwith is probably the best College you can come to. It has a lot of facilities and the teachers are very helpful.
“The Cricket Academy, it’s a no-brainer really. I was like ‘I want to improve’ so that’s why I joined the academy.
“It’s normally Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. You can do what you want to. I normally focus on skills. So as a bowler I would focus on practicing my lengths. The coaches will get the bowling machines out and throw you some balls. It’s beneficial for when the season comes around.
“Compared to school, you get a lot more free time. The sports facilities are good, so when you’ve got your break you’ve got the Astro and you can play football and rugby.
“The teachers have given me good university advice and I’m hoping to go to Cardiff MET and study Sports Coaching.”
