For Kara, choosing what to study after school was an easy decision. After attending a taster day at Truro and Penwith College, she knew that Photography was the perfect course to turn her passion into a future career.
The former Richard Lander student studied the Level 3 Diploma in Photography, developing both her technical skills and creative confidence while building an impressive portfolio of work.
Reflecting on her decision to join the College, Kara said:
“I did a taster day at College and instantly knew the Photography course was for me.”
During her time on the course, Kara embraced the variety of opportunities available, particularly enjoying the chance to learn outside the classroom and capture images in different environments.
“I loved going on trips to take photos as well as the support that my lecturers provided.”
Kara hopes to work on cruise ships, combining her passion for photography with the opportunity to explore new destinations across the globe. Along the way, she plans to continue growing her portfolio of nature photography, capturing landscapes, wildlife and the unique places she encounters during her travels.
Looking back on her journey, Kara’s advice to future students is simple:
“As long as you do what you love, nothing else matters!”
