Name: Millie

Hometown: Stithians

Former School: Penryn College

Courses Studied (including Academies): Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Biomedical Science with the Allied Health Academy

My story:

Set on a Nursing career in the Army,  Millie was sure to take the right steps toward her future by  completing the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Biomedical Science, alongside the Allied Health Academy at Truro College.

Millie explains she chose to come to Truro and Penwith College due to: “The range of courses available and the extra Academies available”.

Millie praises the extra support she has received through attending the Allied Health Academy, a specialist Academy for students interested in careers in the Health sector, that supports progression to university and employment, and is a part of the wider Enrichment programme at the College.

Millie said: “The Allied Health Academy was very informative and helped me choose what I wanted to do. They invited different speakers to come in and I found them very helpful and informative.”

Millie also praised the social atmosphere of the College and said: “I got to make loads of new friends.”

Her advice for future students is to: “Give yourself time to complete assignments and don’t leave them until last minute.”

Now she has completed her course, Millie hopes to continue her journey to become an Army Nurse.
