College Ready Sessions
The College is running College Ready Sessions for new students and separate events for parents to help you learn everything to get ready for the September start. We highly recommend you attend to get the best start to College life.
Student College Ready Sessions
The New Student College Ready Sessions will help you prepare for College with key information, campus tours and fun activities. Come along with your friends who will also be attending the College. There will be morning and afternoon sessions available on each date. The format of each session will be the same, so please only book one session. These will run on:
Truro College
- 19 June, 22 June and 25 June 2026 10am – 12pm & 1pm – 3pm
Penwith College
- 23 June 2026 9am – 10.30am, 11am – 12.30pm & 2pm – 3.30pm
STEM & Health Skills Centre
- 18 June 2026 9am – 11.30am
New Parent/Carer College Ready Information Evenings
New Parent/Carer College Ready Information Evenings prepare you for the transition of your young person starting college with help on accessing the College Portal, bursary/transport advice, Enrichment and Academies and any curriculum changes. These will run on:
Truro College
- 30 June 2026 6pm – 8pm
Penwith College
- 16 June 2026 6pm – 8pm
STEM & Health Skills Centre
- 25 June 2026 6pm – 8pm
confirm your place and submit your results
You need to access the College Portal. You can access this on your mobile phone, home computer or laptop.
It is really important that you complete the following to confirm your place on results day:
- Enter your results
- Confirm your choice of course
- Request a call back to discuss your options (if necessary)
We will confirm your course choice by email or call you back if it is necessary. If you are out of the country and cannot access the portal, or have any other questions, Please contact Admissions.
Please note: If you are not due to receive any results this year, you will still need to contact us at the given time to confirm your course choice. Any course choices or changes can be discussed on GCSE/Level 2 Results Day and Course Confirmation Day.
Advice Sessions
When you open your results, don’t worry if they aren’t what you were expecting. Come to an Advice Session with a friendly member of staff and discover the best route for your future. On Thursday 20 August 2026, GCSE Results Day, drop-in Advice Sessions for applicants are being held from:
- 9.30am – 3pm at Truro College
- 1pm – 4pm at Penwith College
- Phone our STEM and Health Skills Centre, Bodmin on 01208 224455.
No need to book, please just come along to discuss any questions with our admissions and teaching teams. If you can’t make the sessions on Results Day, or if you haven’t made an application yet, you can come along to any of the Advice Sessions below:

Student Start Dates
There will only be first year students, progressing students and staff on campus during the start period, giving you a quieter atmosphere to get your bearings and adjust to College life. You must attend College on the Thursday 03 September 2026 at 9.15am start. You will need to provide/arrange your own transport or come by public transport. Log in to the College Portal on Sunday 30 August 2026 to check which room you will be in for your first lesson. You will need to go to this room on your arrival. Staff and ambassadors will be on hand to help direct you. Many students will be arriving at the same time, so it’s best to be prepared and arrive early. At Truro College, there will be a car drop-off zone on each side of the campus.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Tomperrow Trip will be on Wednesday 02 September 2026. Students will be contacted directly with further information.
Progression Pathways, Personal & Professional Development (PPD) and Young ESOL students all start term at 9.15am on Monday 07 September 2026. These students will be contacted by the department to make any necessary 1-1 arrangements.
Access to HE student induction days are on the following dates: Bodmin campus students: Tuesday 01 September 2026, Truro campus students: Wednesday 02 September 2026 and Penwith campus students: Thursday 03 September 2026. All Access to HE Diplomas commence the week beginning 07 September 2026. Days will be confirmed in an induction letter being sent to students in July.
Occupational Courses – Students studying Level 2 and Level 3 in Construction, Automotive and Hospitality, and Level 3 Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy will start on Tuesday 01 September 2026.
Students studying Level 1 Construction, Automotive, Hair & Beauty and Hospitality, as well as Level 2 Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, will start on Thursday 03 September 2026.
Foundation Art Level 4 students will start on Thursday 03 September 2026 at 9.15am at Truro main campus for their first day induction.

Academy Options and Course Changes
The College has an extensive Academy programme that includes sports academies and extra curricular skills development. You should have selected your Academy choice at interview, but if you did not select an Academy and would like to participate, please speak to the Enrichment Team at Fresher’s Fair. In addition to the Academy offer, there is a wide range of daily enrichment activities and events offered throughout the year and available for you to view and book places. You will get further information about this enrichment timetable during induction.
Any course choices or changes can be discussed on GCSE/Level 2 Results Day on Thursday 20 August and Course Confirmation Day.
A Level English & Maths Summer Work
If you are studying A Level English Language & Literature and/or A Level Maths and Further Maths you may have summer work to complete before you start your studies in September.

We adopt a Behaviour Policy which can be found here. Please note that we like to create a campus culture which is friendly and supportive but one that is respectful of others and property. All students agree on starting at College to adhere to a Student Code of Conduct.
Please note that there is an automated number plate recognition system in place at Truro College between the hours of 6am and 4.30pm. Visitors are entitled to 30 mins for pick-up/drop-off and all other visitors must register their vehicle at a designated Reception point.
We are not able to offer student parking on Truro campus, except for those who meet specific eligibility criteria (usually medical reasons). Please visit our transport page to view the eligibility criteria. Blue Badge holders for those with disabilities can park on any campus. Parking is available at the Langarth Park and Ride at Threemilestone.
The College operates a cashless catering system. You are encouraged to bring cash on your first day to load onto the ID cards which we will provide. You can also use debit cards/phone payments for contactless payments if you prefer.
As a student you are entitled to wear appropriate clothing to College, as long as it meets the health and safety standards of your course. Please ensure anything you wear is respectful and has appropriate coverage of skin. Don’t wear anything that may be considered to be offensive to others e.g. slogans on T-shirts.
If you require specific clothing or kit for your course we will contact you ahead of this academic year with arrangements for this. Please note that you will need to pay a kit fee.
Parents/Carers must log in to the College portal and complete consent forms, which are needed for trips, visits and photography, work experience forms. They must also pay the College’s £30 refundable deposit towards course equipment and books at the College Online Store.
The College has a roaming Wi-Fi system which you will be able to log into for free access.

If you haven’t been into College for an interview and had a photo taken or already uploaded one then you will need to upload a suitable and appropriate photograph of yourself BEFORE you start college on the College Portal. You will need your Student ID number which can be found on your original course offer. The photograph needs to be a clear likeness of you without wearing a hat or a face covering – head and shoulders only.

Truro and Penwith College is a no smoking and no vaping campus. We promote a smoke-free environment to support the wellbeing of our students, staff and visitors. E-cigarettes/vapes are not to be used within College buildings or grounds. We appreciate your adherence to supporting good air quality for all in our educational environment. You will need to wear or carry your ID card at all times in College. We will provide you with a ‘Truro & Penwith College Student’ lanyard for this purpose and it will also be utilised to enter buildings. Students must show their ID for identification purposes if requested by a member of staff. Temporary ID is available as well as replacement ID for a small fee.
