The Cornwall Education and Skills Festival will take place at Truro and Penwith College on Wednesday 08 July 2026, bringing together the region’s education and skills community for a full day of professional development, keynote talks, practical workshops, networking and collaboration.
The event has been designed to support professionals working across primary, secondary, further education, higher education, apprenticeships, careers education and employer engagement.
With more than 70 workshops, keynote sessions and networking opportunities planned, the festival will focus on some of the biggest themes currently shaping education and young people’s futures, including inclusion, disadvantage, social mobility, SEND, digital innovation, excellent teaching, careers education, apprenticeships and the future workforce.
A number of nationally recognised speakers and organisations have already been confirmed, including Amjad Ali, the Education Endowment Foundation, InnerDrive, the South West Social Mobility Commission, Young Futures, Research Schools, and leading educational practitioners and employers from across the South West.
Alongside the keynote speakers and workshops, the festival will also include networking spaces and the Cornwall Futures Fair, creating further opportunities for schools, colleges, employers and partner organisations to connect around shared priorities for young people in Cornwall.
Emma Mills, Head of Teaching and Learning Development at Truro and Penwith College, said: “The Cornwall Education and Skills Festival is about bringing the education community together here in Cornwall to access high-quality professional development, share ideas and collaborate around the challenges and opportunities facing education today. We know that issues such as inclusion, disadvantage, social mobility and preparing young people for the future workforce are increasingly important for schools, colleges and education organisations.
“We wanted to create an event that feels exciting, accessible and genuinely useful for professionals across the region, whether they work in the classroom, in leadership, in careers education, in support roles or with employers and community partners. We are incredibly proud of the calibre of speakers involved and the level of engagement we are already seeing from across Cornwall’s education community.”
Tickets cost £15 per person, including lunch and refreshments, with organisers keen to make high-quality CPD accessible to as many professionals as possible.
