Bus Pass update: 01 March 2021
The College has made the decision to waive the charge for the Bus Pass for the remainder of the Spring Term. Students will be able to travel on the normal College services by showing their College ID card when boarding the bus. Those students who have mislaid their ID card will be able to travel on their first day back but will need to get a new card as soon as they get into College to allow for both future bus travel and registration to timetabled lessons. Students are reminded to purchase their Summer Term bus pass before the end of the Spring Term.

Bursary and subsidised bus pass
Students whose household income is less than £31,000 per year may receive a subsidised Truro and Penwith College bus pass, or Cornwall Council assisted transport costs on application (subject to review). For continuing students it will be dependent on a minimum of 90% attendance during the previous term, as recorded on the College’s MIS database. Higher Education students are not eligible for a subsidised bus pass.
A College transport service is available for students who don’t qualify for subsidised travel. The College can arrange a bus pass on First service routes. In addition, we also provide transport links with Looe. More details are available from the College Transport Desk.

College Timetables will be published again when students return
Starting Wednesday, October 14th - Changes to 201 service from Camborne
In the morning they will leave at Camborne Bus Station at 08.09 calling at Redruth Rail Station at 08.34, then Chacewater at 08.44, calling at all stops. They will be called the 201 buses. In the evening they will depart form the bus bay with all other 200 series College buses.
This will mean there will be no need to use the public T1 and T2 services and you will be refused travel at the start and end of the day on those public bus routes if using a College permit.
We very much hope this will improve the quality and safety of travel for all bus users. Please remember to wear your face coverings at all times when travelling on buses. This is a legal requirement and you risk a significant fine if you forget or refuse and are not exempt.
We have 34 buses over 29 routes and are adding more services all the time to get you here. We also guarantee to get you home if there’s ever an issue.
