Thinking about getting back into education? Would you like to know more about ACCESS to Higher Education Diplomas and University study?
This FREE session on Wednesday 03 July 2024 is aimed at adults (19+) who are lacking the qualifications needed to study a degree, HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in a higher education institution.
Throughout the taster day you will learn more about the Access Diplomas that we have on offer, as well as taking away something practical on the day.
Booking is essential to reserve your place along with a buffet lunch and refreshments. Where possible please use the Park & Ride. There is limited parking onsite for blue badge holders/people with mobility issues and the car parks are monitored by an ANPR Parking System. Please can all attendees report to the Fal building reception upon arrival (and enter your vehicle number plate at the desk if parked at the College. Unregistered vehicles will receive a fine). A member of staff will collect you from Fal reception.

What is an ACCESS Diploma?
These Courses provide learners with a step-up to Higher Education by giving them the necessary grounding and qualifications for progression to University Courses. This route provides excellent study skills in specific subject areas, giving people the confidence to succeed.

- Fast-track journey to university. The Diploma is completed in less than one academic year (duration of course approximately 8 to 9 months).
- Many learners are eligible for full fee remission. If using an advanced learner loan this could be written off after completing a higher education course.
- An adult bursary is available if you are aged 19+ and your household annual income is below £25,000.
Course fee
If you are 19-23, and hold a full level 3 qualification, or over 24 you could choose to self-fund or use an Advanced Learner Loan (course fees range from £3,022 – £3,928). The loan would be written off on completion of a university level course. If you are aged 19-23 at the start of the course, and do not hold a full level 3 qualification, you could be fully funded for your Access to HE Diploma.
Adult bursary
If your household annual income is below £25,000 you could be eligible for a free bus pass or a fuel allowance, help towards the cost of childcare, a meal voucher whilst attending college and an attendance bursary.
