Matthew’s success and ability to carve out a successful career in Carpentry came as no surprise to his tutor Frank Axon. Commenting on the award he said:
“Matthew impressed me right from the start with his attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to both attendance and punctuality. He is very pleasant and a pleasure to teach. His work is first rate and is always open to feedback to improve his techniques and process. His theory work is neatly presented, and focus is excellent. Matthew is on my list to be one of the first to take his End Point Assessment (EPA) and I am confident he will achieve top marks.”
Employers Wain Homes said Matthew demonstrated the values of the company:
“Matthew has shown outstanding dedication, passion, and skill throughout his apprenticeship journey, making significant contributions to our projects and embodying the values that define our company. This achievement reflects not only Matthew’s hard work and commitment but also the collaborative efforts of our entire team. It’s a testament to the culture of excellence and growth that we cultivate here at Wain Homes.”
Director of Business Partnerships and Apprenticeships at Truro and Penwith College, Hayley McKinstry said:
“The College is delighted to have recently been recognised by the Department for Education as one of the few Expert Apprenticeship Providers across the UK. High-achieving apprentices like Matthew and our innovative approach in delivering apprenticeships in partnership with top employers such as Wain Homes has all played a part in making this possible.”
