After two years of hard work and dedication over 1,600 A Level, Vocational Diploma and T Level students collected their results in August. With almost 1,000 students leaving College having secured entry to their first-choice university, this year is the culmination of their efforts and diligence, supported through the care, expertise and dedication of our excellent staff.
This course runs part-time over an academic year covering vocational and academic elements to meet specific criteria to enable access to the Early Years Workforce. Students attend college one evening or a full day per week and are also required to work within an early years setting for approx 350 hours over the year.
Topics covered during the course include:
- Child developmental theory and provision, including implementing EYFS
- Legislation related to working within a childcare setting
- Vocational practice in regard to implementing activities
The tutor holds a BA (Hons) in Education and Training and has extensive experience teaching and working within the sector.
Students must hold a minimum of four GCSE's at grade 4 or 5 (or equivalent) to include English and Maths.
Previous experience working with children is an asset.
Students must have a placement in an Early Years setting before starting the course (to total approx. 350 hours across the academic year).
