All Unit-E systems are unavailable from 7.30pm on 25 September due to essential maintenance. This includes staff, student and parent advantage, College portal payments and applications. Normal service will be resumed the following morning. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
This course runs part-time over an academic year covering vocational and academic elements to meet specific criteria to enable access to the Early Years Workforce. Students attend college one evening or a full day per week and are also required to work within an early years setting for approx 350 hours over the year.
Topics covered during the course include:
- Child developmental theory and provision, including implementing EYFS
- Legislation related to working within a childcare setting
- Vocational practice in regard to implementing activities
The tutor holds a BA (Hons) in Education and Training and has extensive experience teaching and working within the sector.
Students must hold a minimum of four GCSE's at grade 4 or 5 (or equivalent) to include English and Maths.
Previous experience working with children is an asset.
Students must have a placement in an Early Years setting before starting the course (to total approx. 350 hours across the academic year).
