This qualification is for practitioners who are required to assess both in the work environment and through other vocationally related situations.
In a work environment, assessment methods would include direct observations of workplace practice, professional discussion, oral questioning, witness statements, work products and reflective statements. Other vocationally related situations would include assessment in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects and case studies.
The qualification includes up to five full days study where you will study topics around understanding the principles and practices of assessment, the role of the assessor, the assessment cycle and the importance of standardisation. You will be required to support two learners through their personal and professional development.
To achieve the full QCF (Qualification Credit Framework) certificate you will need to complete all three units.
Learners can progress to the Internal Quality Assurance qualification which will allow them to monitor and quality assure the assessment processes.
