This bootcamp is available for existing employees working at a lower level across Social, Primary and Home Care who need to develop clinical skills in order to progress onto higher training or career opportunities and address workforce deficiencies in staff competent to perform core skilled tasks.
Course content:
- Introduction to Demonstrating Professional Practice in Care to enable participants to develop an understanding of their role, responsibilities, accountability, person-centred approaches to care and reflective practice.
- Understanding Physiological Measurements to introduce the knowledge and skills required to take and record measurements, including utilising the RESTORE2 national tool for recognition and escalation of deteriorations of adults in community healthcare settings
- Supporting Urinary Continence and Catheter Care Management
- Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Tissue Viability Risk Assessments
- Developmental competency to provide learners with the skills to support individuals to maintain adequate hydration and identify malnutrition using the universal screening tool (MUST)
- Developmental competency to provide learners with an introduction to assisting in the administration of medicine
- Social/ Home Care: Supporting Individuals at the End of Life - Primary Care: Performing Routine Echocardiograph Procedures
- Social/ Home Care: Dementia Awareness: Introduction to Cornwall Tier 2 Dementia Training - Primary Care: Diabetes Awareness and Management
- Social/ Home Care: RESTORE2 Full Tool Training - Primary Care: Obtaining venous blood samples and obtaining and testing capillary blood samples.
- Facilitated Career Planning Session and Learner Presentation of Clinical Skills Portfolio to Employers
