The first five sessions of this course will focus on project learning for beginners to introduce the fundamental skills needed to create small objects from metal. You will learn how to use tools safely and effectively, while creating four or five pieces of jewellery. There is then the opportunity to design and create your own pieces using the skills you have learnt, with support from your tutor.
We will work predominantly in copper, however there is the opportunity to work with silver on some projects (all materials must be paid for) Please bring money to pay for materials, which are extra, and will need to be paid for each week.. Also, please bring a pen, notebook and wear closed toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops allowed in the workshop). Please note this course involves using various tools that require strength and dexterity. Classes take place in the Zennor Building at the Penwith site. The course is taught by Tasha Scannell.
