Attending an Open Event is a great opportunity to explore the campus, see our specialist facilities and speak to our teaching staff. We are here to answer any questions that you might have and help you to make an application.
What To Expect
There is a lot to see and do at an Open Event, so pick up an event guide when you arrive. This will help you find your way around campus and locate subjects that you are interested in. Across the college, our friendly team of tutors and staff will be waiting to give you more information about the course and help with any queries you may have.
At every event we have workshops and informative talks about a variety of subjects. Check out the event guide for more details.
If you are ready to apply after you have looked around visit one of our application stations and we can help you. Make sure you visit the other departments at the College, including Student Services, Careers, Enrichment and more.
If you’re already interested in joining our College, you can visit our Application Station where staff will be able to help you make an application for a course. You can also apply online at a later date if you need more time to go through your options.
Be sure to pick up as much information as you can. There will be a lot to take in during the event, so taking some information away with you will make your discussions at home a lot easier. Grab a prospectus and other literature before you leave and make notes on your event guide while you talk with members of staff.
Open Day Talks
Join us in the lecture theatre for Information Talks throughout the Open Day that will help you discover more about life at Truro and Penwith College. You can book a place on one or more of the talks when completing a registration form for the open event.
At 10.15am you can explore Apprenticeships as our expert team talk you through the quality careers available with some of Cornwall’s top employers in over 30 Apprenticeship programmes.
At 11.15am the Principal, Martin Tucker, will give a general talk to prospective students.
At 12.15pm you can hear all about our Enrichment programme, including academies, recreational games, clubs, societies and more to help you pursue your passion, enhance your University application or tackle top-level sport.
The Open Day will continue as usual alongside these talks for you to explore the campus, meet tutors, ask your questions and explore state-of-the-art facilities before submitting your College application.
How to get here
If you’re planning to travel by car, parking for the event will be clearly signposted. All of our campuses are easy to reach via car or public transport.
Please be aware that the campus is made up of multiple buildings so you may wish to bring a coat and/or an umbrella in the event of inclement weather. You can start your journey from any building and be sure to pick up an open event guide from one of our friendly student ambassadors or a member of the marketing team. After that, the campus is yours to explore!
Please note that while registering for an event helps us to improve your event experience, you are not required to register in order to attend.
