Louis’ Story
Louis never thought he was capable of being a high achiever, but took on the IB to push his limits. With support from Truro College, his journey has taken him from self-doubt to success, achieving 31 points and now opening opportunities to study Medicine. His journey proves the IB is for anyone willing to try.

Sennen chose Truro College for its great reputation and supportive environment, studying Level 3 Travel and Tourism. Her passion for the industry grew through hands-on units like cruise and cabin crew, and with the help of inspiring lecturers, she secured her dream job at Newquay Airport.

Magda, Elysha and Aaron – BSC (Hons) Operating Department Practitioner
Magda, Elysha and Aaron recently completed the BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practitioner degree at the University Centre Truro and Penwith and are now stepping confidently into roles as registered Anaesthetic Practitioners with Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a handywoman with big ambitions, Jen grew her business and took on larger projects with new confidence after completing the Skills Bootcamp in Property Maintenance.

Charlie decided to expand and weld himself with a new set of skills by enrolling in a Welding and Fabrication Skills Bootcamp at Truro and Penwith College. Â

Izzie – FdSc Nursing Associate
Izzie chose to stay in Cornwall for university after completing her T-Level in Health at Truro College. Since becoming a FdSc Nursing Associate apprentice she hasn’t looked back, even receiving standout feedback from members of the public during her time on placement at Royal Cornwall Hospital’s Critical Care ward.

Chris wanted to expand his skill set with practical knowledge for home projects and a potential career change. Through flexible weekly sessions on the Skills Bootcamp in Property Maintenance he found the perfect solution mastering trades like carpentry and tiling.
Jake – BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing
Jake’s journey from construction to care is a testament to the importance of accessible Higher Education. After completion of his degree, Jake will play a vital role in Cornwall’s NHS, thanks to the opportunity to study Nursing locally at the University Centre Truro and Penwith.
