Since leaving school, Mark has embedded himself into the hospitality industry, first starting with an Apprenticeship in conference and banqueting, and working in several restaurants and hotels before being offered a supervisor role at the Paris Airshow. From this point, Mark became a freelance event manager working on many top sporting events from Ascot to Henley Royal Regatta as well as private events onboard a yacht in Cannes and many weddings too.
Upon moving to Cornwall, Mark ran a hotel and worked at Hotel Tresanton before finally joining the team at Truro and Penwith College. On top of Marks phenomenal 26 years’ experience of the sector. He also has an HND in event management, a level 5 leadership and management qualification and a certificate in education and training. Mark has formed great relationships across many departments of the College and always strives to work collaboratively to deliver the best possible outcome. Mark is innovative, often coming up with new ideas to improve provision and deliver the best training for our students and business partners.
Outside of work Mark volunteers as an enterprise advisor at Penair School and often attends networking meetings with all schools in Cornwall. Mark enjoys playing the drums, kayaking, and spending time with family.
