ESF New Enterprise Support

Through our comprehensive SHINE (Skills Help for Individuals and New Enterprises) project, Truro and Penwith College have developed a flexible and comprehensive package of training and support.

This fantastic programme has been created to assist individuals who are currently employed and intend to start a new business, or existing small and medium enterprises in Cornwall aged between 0-3 years.

Your journey starts with a one-to-one meeting with one of our dedicated team of New Enterprise Advisors, who will provide bespoke advice and guidance based on your individual needs.  All of our team have extensive personal experience of establishing and running new businesses, and can advise how you may avoid the perils and pitfalls commonly encountered when starting a small enterprise.

You will begin by creating a development plan tailored just for you, with your advisor. We will take the time to explore your concept with you and build a pathway to success.

Your development plan will include:

  • A diverse range of expert help, from people who have cross-industry, first-hand experience of running a business.
  • A range of unaccredited short workshops, based on your needs, and ongoing networking opportunities.
  • Specific coaching and mentoring opportunities in relation to your bespoke development plan.
  • A friendly team of who can help to answer those burning questions!

Access to our higher level accredited short courses (SUCCESS courses) will be available to you, with a up to 50% funding for course fees (subject to eligibility) on offer through the European Social Fund (ESF).

Other part-time accredited and non-accredited courses are also available specific to the industry you operate in across many sectors, including hospitality, care, digital, art & design and teaching & learning.

Get in touch today for an informal discussion and to find out more, so you can begin to take your business to the next level!
