Lloyd Yates – Helford Theatre – Thursday 25 September 2014

Lloyd Yates is a singer-songwriter and a life-long surfer. He grew up on the surf laden beaches of St Ouen, Jersey, in the Channel Islands. He has travelled the world in search of inspiration and waves.
Along with his band, Mehdi Padidar, Alex Moody, Polo Olivier & Jay ‘Sausage’ Shaughnessy he has gone on to build a growing fan-base with his emotional performances and songs inspired by family and the landscapes and cities he’s encountered during his journeys around the globe.

In September 2013 he performed at Radio 2’s Hyde Park Festival in a Day and then went on to record live at Maida Vale for Radio 1.

These experiences along with his many live performances at festivals and venues across the UK propelled the band into the consciousness of entirely new audiences.
Lloyd is developing a strong fan base in Cornwall after recent performances at Boardmasters, Lusty Glaze Sundowner Sessions and The Watering Hole and tickets are sure to sell fast for this intimate gig at the Helford Theatre.

Support will be provided by Haunt the Woods, who are an exciting contemporary Folk band from the shires of Cornwall and the Rame Peninsula. Haunt the Woods have a new and unique sound incorporating an eclectic blend of traditional and contemporary folk influences, with beautiful melodies and spellbinding guitar and are starting to make an impression on the local music scene after the release of their first EP – Dust Over Summer – in June this year and are tipped to go on to bigger things.
The venue will have cabaret style seating and standing. There will be bar facilities.
