Subjects studied: A Level Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, with the Elite Academy
Former school: Richard Lander School, Truro
What’s next: Biochemistry at St Anthony’s College, University of Oxford
My story:
Amelie studied a wide range of A Levels, including Biology, where she covered various topics such as biological molecules, proteins, cells, digestive systems, heart and blood systems, genetics, nervous systems, nutrient cycles and more.
Amelie joined the Elite Academy outside of her main studies and believes the College facilities have everything you could ask for.
“Biology was a real big step-up from GCSE” said Amelie. “It wasn’t just learning facts and learning just for specifications. Instead of watching experiments on a screen you actually got to do experiments.
“Inspiring lecturers that bring science to life really helped me decide what I wanted to do after College.
“I love the academies side to College and also the HWS (Health, Wellbeing and Sport). It’s just something else that is completely random to your studies.
“There is always a friendly face around College and everyone chats to everyone. You can make friends with a wide range of people here.”
