The 3D Design A Level at Truro College not only has a new name but also a raft of impressive new kit, creating the best range of cutting-edge design tech in Cornwall.

Whenever something exciting is happening in our award-winning Science department it is usually because our Science Technicians have been involved. Setting up kit, organising and preparing, as well as being Fire Marshals and First Aiders, they make all the spectacular things happen and help give our Science students the Outstanding experience they deserve.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the focus has been more than ever on the NHS and the positive work it does. Truro and Penwith College has always been a popular choice for students in Cornwall who want to be doctors or go into other careers in Medicine, but what are the routes to get there? What do you need to know?

“The Construction industry is absolutely booming at the moment,” says Rich Billington, Programme Team Leader for Construction at Truro College. “There is major home building across the South West and other significant construction projects all underway. We’ll need to upskill local people to meet demand. If you’re qualified, you should have a job for life.”

Walking & cycling charity Sustrans, working in partnership with Cornwall Council, have offered staff from Truro & Penwith College a day of free cycling focused opportunities.

After the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, with an eye on the changes that will impact every part of our society and a move towards zero-carbon by 2050, the careers advice at Truro and Penwith College is focusing on sustainable careers, making students aware of the forthcoming changes and opportunities that will impact future careers.
