What Will I Learn?
Modules you will study are:
Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements: This focuses on preparing the key statements for single limited companies and consolidated financial statements for groups of companies
Applied Management Accounting: This module develops the knowledge and skills to be able to interpret and analyse data to produce reports
Internal Accounting Systems and Controls: This unit teaches students to consider the role and responsibilities of the accounting function, including the needs of key stakeholders who use financial reports to make decisions

WHERE WILL IT TAKE ME?
Students are likely to progress on to higher-level study through ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA or CIMA which will develop your accounting knowledge in much greater depth through to Level 7.
Examples of roles as a Professional Accounting/ Tax Technician include, but are not limited to, Assistant Auditor, Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable and Expenses Supervisor, Commerical Analyst, Payroll Manager, Senior bookkeeper, Senior Financial Officer, Personal Tax Assistant and Business Tax Assistant
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The awarding body of this qualification is AAT.
Apprentices on the course will have the option to study technical knowledge of Accounting or Tax alongside business awareness, such as the financial information outcomes of an organisations activities in the industries and environment in which it operates.
ASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENTS
Units on the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting are assessed through a series of online assessments. The portfolio will be assessed through a structured interview.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You will need GCSE Mathematics and English at grade 4 or above, plus AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (or equivalent).
Information & Support
The additional costs for this course is the AAT membership which is currently £105 per year and a one-off admission payment of £50.
