Aimed at those who wish to become hairdressers and who have little or no prior experience, the VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Women’s Hairdressing prepares you for entering the hairdressing sector as a junior hairdresser/stylist.

What could this qualification lead to?
This qualification will prepare you for employment as a junior hairdresser/stylist. You will also be eligible to become part of the professional trade body, the Hairdressing Council as a graduate registered hairdresser. The course opens up career opportunities as a hairdresser/stylist in commercial salons and other environments such as independent, self-employed, mobile, and home-based settings.
How it works
The knowledge and skills learnt throughout the course will be tested through assessments, assignments and online tests. The course also has 4 mandatory Saturday workshops which will assist with your learning. Units within the course include:
- Working in the hair industry
- Health and safety
- Client consultation
- Shampoo and conditioning hair
- Cutting women’s hair and the art of dressing hair
