Jack – HNC Construction

After studying T Level Construction at Truro and Penwith College Jack felt progressing to the HNC Construction at the University Centre was the next logical step and would position him well in the industry.

"The small class size is very beneficial as lessons are direct and precise. The weekly sessions and regular conversations with tutors give me peace of mind."

My Story:

After studying for his GCSE’s at Helston Community College Jack progressed to a T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning at Truro and Penwith College. It was after completing his T Level that Jack chose to continue studying at the Truro Campus and persue his career in construction by enrolling on the HNC Construction course at University Centre Truro and Penwith. With the courses flexbility, Jack is also able to fit in work commitments alongside his study and he is enjoying the course engagment.

Jack said: “The HNC was the next logical step up from T Level and positions me well in the industry.”

“The small class size of five is beneficial as lessons are direct and precise.  The weekly sessions and regular conversations give me peace of mind.”

“I work four days a week as a Trainee Estimator.  Day leave from work means I can balance work and study well giving me one day a week for the HNC.”

Jack’s  advice to others looking at this course would be: “I think having some prior construction practice would be really helpful for anyone looking to start this course, so recommend trying to get some in  person experience before or alongside the course.”
