For Paria, choosing Truro and Penwith College was an easy decision thanks to its exceptional academic environment, inspiring lecturers, and exceptional facilities that helped her achieve her goals.
A former Penair School student, Paria followed a full and ambitious timetable, studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and 3D Design. Her academic strengths, paired with a clear passion for architecture, made Truro College the ideal next step—especially after seeing its dedicated facilities.
She commented: “I chose Truro and Penwith College because of its exceptional academic environment, inspiring lecturers, and fantastic facilities—especially in 3D Design. The College offers valuable opportunities such as industry connections and enrichment programmes that prepare students for university and future careers.”
Paria’s dedication and talent were recently recognised when she was accepted onto the highly competitive Pelican Programme at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge. This prestigious six-month academic enrichment initiative supports high-achieving students preparing for university-level study. Participants develop their analytical and communication skills through small-group discussions led by subject experts at one of Cambridge’s most historic colleges.
Paria added: “I was thrilled and proud when I found out I had been accepted! It’s such an exciting opportunity to deepen my understanding of architecture while connecting with like-minded students and professionals.”
As part of her successful application, Paria completed an Architecture Task that required her to write about a piece of local architecture that inspires her. She chose Truro Cathedral, producing a thoughtful written analysis accompanied by her own detailed sketch. Her creative approach and strong academic foundation made her an outstanding candidate.
Paria also credited the crucial support she received from staff at the College: “The lecturers have been incredibly supportive, offering guidance not only on my coursework but also on external opportunities like the Pelican Programme. They encourage creative thinking and always push me to explore new ideas in my designs.”
Paria’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, creativity, and the value of a truly supportive learning environment. We’re incredibly proud of her success and wish her the very best as she takes this exciting next step in her academic journey.
