Courses studied at College: IB Diploma
Praising the “community atmosphere” the IB Diploma has provided as a welcome addition to his studies, second year student Robin reflects on his two years at Truro and Penwith College fondly.
Wanting to continue studying a range of subjects after leaving secondary school, Truro and Penwith College was the perfect fit for Robin as the only provider of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in Cornwall.
Robin describes his favourite part of the IB as; “The broad range [of subjects] and also the size of it. It’s such a community atmosphere and a tight-knit group of people. I think the IB is hard work, but everybody is in the same boat. It’s a family.”
Advising future students who are interested in the IB, Robin explains his top tip is to: “Keep on top of work – especially in the first year! You’ll enjoy it in the long run.”
After completing his studies, Robin plans to take a gap year before heading to university. “I’m planning on having a year out, a year of travelling to South Africa in October and then University afterwards to possibly study Engineering.”
