0.5 Fractional Contract/18.5 hours per week
The Assistant Programme Manager will work directly with the SCITT Programme manager to support the monitoring, quality assurance and support of partner schools and central training within the SCITT and School Direct partnerships.
The successful applicant will must be an experienced graduate teacher or lecturer with QTS covering the secondary age range. As a current practitioner of ITT, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the support and development of trainee teachers and their trainers. The post holder must be someone who can adjust their teaching style to meet the needs of adults and be familiar with the nature, expectations and routines of the school-centred ITT routes.
IMPLICATIONS FOR THE APPLICANT, SCHOOL OR COLLEGE:
An applicant who is employed full time by a school / college would be treated as a seconded post for the 39 weeks of the academic year with costs covered from the range above.
We will ideally be looking for flexibility in the way work is allocated and managed (i.e. there may be more work in some weeks than others but it will not go above a 0.5 fte annual equivalent). The nature of the post calls for an ability to travel to different partnership schools and work from our base at Truro College as well as from home.
Due to these implications, if any applicant is seeking a secondment of 0.5 fte from their teaching position, their application must first be sanctioned by the Head teacher / Principal of the institution and their agreement put in writing and sent to the Course Director.
