An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Higher Education Team. We are looking for a vibrant and committed personality who will combine a master’s degree in Archaeology (or related subject) and a recognised teaching qualification with the ability to inspire students and staff. We would also welcome applicants with experience of working in the archaeological heritage sector with recognised professional qualifications*
Successful applicants will be required to provide high quality teaching and be able to support and assess students undertaking their FdSc Archaeology course along with students studying on our BSc (Hons) Archaeology top up degree. Applicants will require a sound knowledge of archaeological theory and practices as well as an understanding of the wider heritage sector to cover the range of modules offered on the programme. An ability to deliver both practical and classroom-based sessions is essential.
Modules include Landscape & Environment, History of Archaeological Debate, Field Survey & Site Reconstruction, Excavation & Post Excavation, Entrepreneurship & Professional Development and Experimental Archaeology & Event Management.
*Non-qualified applicants will be considered but will be paid on a non-qualified lecturer scale.
We will be interviewing as and when we receive suitable applicants and/or we have confirmed additional staffing needs.
