Full Time/Fractional/Part Time
We are looking for a vibrant and committed lecturer with the ability to inspire students and maintain excellent working relationships in a successful English and Languages team. The successful applicant will provide high quality teaching, hold a relevant teaching qualification, and have a commitment to the delivery of an outstanding learning experience for our students.
The successful applicant will teach on our GCSE and Functional Skills English courses, teaching students who did not gain a grade 3 in GCSE English at school. There may be the opportunity to teach on other courses across the department (including A Level and IB), but the focus of this post is employing an experienced GCSE/Functional Skills lecturer who cares passionately about supporting resit learners to pass English in order to give them more options for future progression. We currently teach GCSE or Functional Skills English to over 500 learners, including adults who attend our part-time evening classes, so this is a large and important part of the department’s work.
We are looking for someone who has the confidence to be able to support and enthuse potentially reluctant learners, who is a committed team member, and who has a genuine enthusiasm for English.
Applicants should hold a degree or similar professional qualifications and a recognised teaching qualification.
Interviews likely to be held week commencing on or before 9th June 2025
*Salary as advertised is based on a qualified lecturer. Non-qualified applicants will be considered but will be paid on a non-qualified lecturer scale.
