An important industry
The transport and storage of stock is a vital part of our modern society that often goes unnoticed. Organisation and efficiency ensure that companies can receive and dispatch items quickly and correctly, keeping goods, equipment and communications flowing to where they are needed.
As an apprentice, you will learn in a working environment while earning a wage and a nationally recognised qualification. Over a year-long period, you’ll only need to attend college for 12 days, plus an induction day at the start of the course to prepare you for your Apprenticeship. A further Functional Skills course is optional for those who wish to improve their employability.
The skills you’ll learn in a transport and storage role translate well across many sectors and are highly desired by employers. Organisation, timekeeping, health and safety, customer service, communication, teamwork and using your initiative are all examples of areas in which you will improve significantly.
