Access to Higher Education Humanities Diploma is the ideal course for adults without traditional A levels to gain entry to a degree or other Higher Education courses in Humanities/ Social Science related subjects such as English, Law, Politics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology and Education.

Not only is the Access qualification a popular, nationally recognised qualification designed to provide you with the skills to apply for courses at universities, and is also specifically tailored towards the adult learner. Core units include Literary Studies, English Language (sociolinguistics), Psychology and Sociology. All pathways also include modules in study skills, such as academic writing and IT skills, as well as an independent research projects where you can explore your area of interest in more detail.

Where will it take me?

The Access to Higher Education programme is designed to give you the necessary grounding to progress on to Higher Education courses. The majority of British Universities will accept Access to Higher Education courses as an alternative to A Levels and other more traditional routes. In previous years students have gained places in a diverse range of Higher Education courses such as Law, English, Sociology and Psychology in universities overall the country. You could also continue your Higher Education studies at Truro and Penwith College in a variety of subjects such as English, Applied Psychology, Community Studies, and Archaeology.
