Mentor Nominations
2026

Nominations for the 2026 Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards are now open! The Mentor of the Year Awards are ideal for colleagues, lecturers and teaching assistants who have gone above and beyond to support an apprentice to achieve the best possible start in their career. Anyone can nominate including apprentices, employers, friends and family members. Mentors can even nominate themselves and it's completely free.

How to nominate

To nominate, complete our simple nomination form via the link below. You will be asked to provide 500-words across a series of questions to explain why your nominee should win the award with judges looking for examples of the following:

  • Mentoring the apprentice to develop skills and gain qualifications that have had a direct impact on their careers and workplaces.
  • Mentorship that has built the apprentices independence and confidence while supporting their personal development and wellbeing.
  • Reasons that set the nomination apart, make it a potential winner and an example for other mentors to follow.

It is not possible to save drafts of your nomination. We recommend you review the nomination form and draft your responses before completing and submitting the form.

Multiple nominations will not improve a mentor's chance of winning. If multiple parties wish to nominate a mentor we recommend they combine their efforts into a single nomination of the highest possible quality.

Deadline: Nominations will close at 4pm on Monday 20 October.

who is eligibile for nomination?

Nominations are accepted from anyone including apprentices, employers, friends, family members and colleagues. Mentors can even nominate themselves.

The free to enter process is open to anyone who has taken part in or provided apprenticeship training since June 2024, regardless of their training provider. The mentor should be supporting an apprentice who works or trains in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

If a business or learning provider is sponsoring a category they will only judge categories where no representatives from their organisation have been nominated.
