Aimee’s Story

Aimee chose to study a T Level at the College so that she could get valuable experience working in a community hospital.

“I wanted to do a T Level because of the opportunity to do a large placement, which really excited me, and doing that will get me to where I want to be after College.”

Subjects studied: T Level Health

Former school: Redruth School

What’s next: University of Plymouth to study a child and adult nursing dual course with an integrated masters.

My story:

During her studies, Aimee enjoyed her work placement at a community hospital so much that she decided to apply for a part-time job in a hospital setting. The T Level Health course gave her the opportunity to work with patients in a work environment, as well as provide excellent teaching facilities within the College.

Aimee said: “I wanted to do a T Level because of the opportunity to do a large placement, which really excited me, and doing that will get me to where I want to be after College. I want to go to the University of Plymouth to study a child and adult nursing dual course, which will be a four year course with an integrated masters.

“I enjoy the facilities here. The simulation suite really helps us with our course as we have dummies we can practise things on.

“I like learning about all of the systems in science because it links to Nursing, which is what I want to do, so it’s good to get an insight into some of the illnesses.

“After my placement, I decided that I wanted to do a part-time job in a hospital setting. The College helped me by writing references for me. I then managed to get a part-time job at the hospital as a healthcare assistant.”
