An incredible year for Level 3 Results

After two years of hard work and dedication over 1,600 A Level, Vocational Diploma and T Level students collected their results in August. With almost 1,000 students leaving College having secured entry to their first-choice university, this year is the culmination of their efforts and diligence, supported through the care, expertise and dedication of our excellent staff.

Ami’s story

Two-time reigning champion Ami won first place at Gymshark Lifting Club in Solihull in the Sub Junior British National Championships, 84kg+ category thanks to the support she has had from Truro College.

Two-time reigning champion Ami won first place at Gymshark Lifting Club in Solihull for the Sub Junior British National Championships, 84kg+ category. She is currently in her first year studying Sport, Fitness and Personal Training Level 3 Extended Diploma. After Ami’s recent achievements, she is now up for selection for Great Briton at the World Championships and European Championships.

Ami felt supported from the moment she attended her first Open Event at Truro College and now she continues to be given expert support, Ami commented: “I came to the Open Day before leaving my previous school and spoke to the lecturers. They guided me on what course would suit me best. College has been so supportive; I have loved being here so far.”

Her physical fitness does not stop there. Ami also attends the weekly Health, Wellbeing and Sport (HWS) gym sessions that form part of the College’s Enrichment programme, which is open to all full-time students.

Ami commented: “I enjoy attending the College gym sessions as it gives me a chance to talk to like-minded people and train. By doing this, it gives me more time to focus on studying.”

Ami’s advice for students looking to pursue weightlifting is: “Just go for it. You build strength over time. Everyone in the sport has been amazing. It is also a sport where you do not mentally compete with others, you compete with yourself.”
