My story:
Before joining the Painting and Decorating course at Penwith College, Berri completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design and has aspirations of opening her own artistic painting and decorating firm.
Berri said: “When I was first shown around the department, I instantly knew it was going to be for me. I’m not here because I have to be, I’m here because I want to be.
“I have been able to use creative skills in my painting and decorating and it is a lot more creative than I thought it could be.
“The Painting and Decorating course gets you thinking and makes you figure out a way to do things yourself and really discover your independence.
“The lecturers give us so much support in all areas, they’re brilliant. They appreciate us as people and we always get treated like adults.
“Painting and decorating as a career can be so rewarding. Decorating a room or house for someone can make a huge impact and it’s a great feeling knowing you were a part of that.”
