Subjects: Level 1 Construction Skills
Former school: Richard Lander and Duchy College, Truro
What’s next: Level 2 Plastering at Truro College
My Story:
George’s course, Level 1 Construction Skills, allowed him to try his hand at a range of trades so he could decide which one to specialise in.
He said: “The course is really good. Everyone is building and the lecturers were all really helpful. I learned a lot.
“The lecturers were really supportive. They were always there if you need anything.
“I particularly enjoyed doing plastering. The lecturers were all ex-tradespeople, so they know what they’re doing!”
George enjoyed this aspect of the course so much, he’s going on to study Level 2 Plastering next year. He’s hoping to become an apprentice or self-employed.
When asked if he has any advice for future students George said: “Don’t worry too much. Look around at whatever takes your fancy, there’s so many courses and you’ll find something you enjoy.”
