The lecturers are incredibly supportive. My lecturer, Hollie, has not only helped me improve my barbering skills and client interactions but also garners immense respect from my clients by making them feel comfortable.”
The College prides itself on providing a fantastic student experience, giving the perfect platform for our students to prepare for and succeed in the world of work or at university. Hendrik added: “I like this course; it is very helpful for sure. It helps me build my fundamental skills which makes me feel confident when going into a workplace.”
“One of my weaknesses with barbering was timings, but the College has ways to help. I took part in the recent Cornish Skills Competition and it’s good that we have this.”
Our extra-curricular Enrichment programme embodies the values of our college community, offering something for everyone. It provides opportunities for students to develop friendships, new skills, confidence, and resilience, helping them become fully prepared for their next steps while focusing on physical and mental well-being. Hendrik added: “I also attend the Basketball Academy, which I love. It gives me a break from being in the classroom or salon all day. Since I spend most of the day on my feet in the same position, it is fantastic to get out, meet friends, listen to music, and practice. The Enrichment sessions are very beneficial.”
