After two years of hard work and dedication over 1,600 A Level, Vocational Diploma and T Level students collected their results in August. With almost 1,000 students leaving College having secured entry to their first-choice university, this year is the culmination of their efforts and diligence, supported through the care, expertise and dedication of our excellent staff.

Course: BSc (Hons) Applied Sport & Health Science
Career: Personal Trainer
After relocating to Cornwall and starting a family, mature student Johnny decided he wanted to return to education after a 7 year gap. After previosuly studying Outdoor Education with the College, Johnny decided to top up his degree with BSc (Hons) Applied Sport and Health Science at the University Centre Truro & Penwith. After gaining confidence alongside his new qualification, Johnny has continued to grown his personal training business since he graduated in 2018 and is pursuing his passion, supporting people to achieve their health and fitness goals.
He said: “I always wanted to get a degree, I just wasn’t sure if I was able to achieve it, until I came across a sports degree at the University Centre”
“I want to help people, knowledge is knowledge but not everyone has access to it. At the end of the day, I just want to help people get healthier”

“My advice to anyone thinking about it would be Do it! I was a mature student and really nervous at first, as I had been thinking about coming back for seven years”
Alongside building a new training studio and continuing his personal training business, Johnny hopes to expand into writing lifestyle pieces as well as giving professional seminars.
