The business and training expert grew up in Cornwall but left the county after finishing her A Levels to study a degree in Sociology with Community Practice at Plymouth University. After feeling inspired by her choice of degree, Georgie then moved to Bristol to begin a career as a Youth Worker, specifically working in deprived areas of Bristol. After developing experience in this role, Georgie then sought a new challenge and took up the position of Employment Advisor, working in the employment services department and covering law, accountancy and secretarial services. As well as her degree, Georgie has gained qualifications in Information, Advice & Guidance and AAT, which is the sector she is currently responsible for within the Truro College Business team. Georgie has a great passion for her work and is able to see things from different perspectives due to the dual nature of her role. Her colleagues would describe her as determined and enthusiastic with great problem-solving skills. Georgie believes that the accounting sector, along with many others, will require a workforce able to adapt to different ways of working under increasing pressure, and she strives to continue to support individuals through their learning journey into whatever role that may be. Outside of work Georgie enjoys spending time with her young family and their chocolate Labrador as well as meeting up with friends.
