After two years of hard work and dedication over 1,600 A Level, Vocational Diploma and T Level students collected their results in August. With almost 1,000 students leaving College having secured entry to their first-choice university, this year is the culmination of their efforts and diligence, supported through the care, expertise and dedication of our excellent staff.
In her role, Kate reviews all the applications received for our University level courses and processes the decisions. You will often find her on the end of the phone or an email helping with queries about our diverse range of courses and guiding applicants through the application process.
Kate commented: “My role also includes supporting the team with the enrolment and registration processes at the start of the year. It’s so rewarding when you finally meet the applicants that you have been communicating with throughout the year when they come to the University Centre on registration day, putting faces to names is always lovely every year.”
“I love being able to communicate with all the applicants and it’s great to be able to help provide opportunities for local people to gain qualifications and pursue their careers.”
“It’s brilliant to be able to make use of the Health, Wellbeing and Sport services available to staff and students. If you can’t find me in the office, it’s normally because I’m out for a jog, doing an exercise class, or having a swim! The drop-in clinic run with our FdSc Sports Therapy students and lecturers was a great help with an injury I had last year too.”
“Helping with the annual Graduation ceremony is always a highlight, it’s wonderful to be able to celebrate everyone’s successes and achievements, especially when I remember them starting their course!”
Kate advises prospective students: “You don’t have to move out of Cornwall to get a degree, whether you are 18 and just leaving College or a mature student thinking about returning to you education, we probably have a course for you and we’re always happy to work out your best options with you.”
