Accelerating Circular Skills for Cornwall & Isles of Scilly (ARCA)

What is it?

The ARCA project will create an environment that stimulates and supports innovation, collaboration, research & development and skills to drive the development of new products and services, and complementary approaches that will improve productivity and deliver sustainable economic growth to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and micro businesses in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and beyond.

This project is a partnership between the University of Exeter and Truro & Penwith College who have developed a programme of activities to engage business, help them develop innovative ideas and skills, and deliver technical solutions.

Truro and Penwith College has developed a range of leadership and management workshops to support businesses with the understanding the need to invest in people to achieve a sustainable organisation. These will include:

  • Change Management workshops
  • Emotional Intelligence in the workplace (incorporating EBW assessment tool)
  • Developing Talent workshops
  • Action Learning Networks
  • One-to-one Leadership & Management Coaching sessions
  • Effective Mentoring
  • Design of Bespoke Leadership & Management Development Programmes – working in collaboration with businesses to deliver programmes adding value to organisational aims

The funding and project aims

The ESF ARCA project is part of Investment Priority 2.2, Improving the labour market relevance of education and training systems and is delivered by Truro and Penwith College Business, in partnership with the University of Exeter.

Truro and Penwith College Business will look to expand its current Leadership, Management and Coaching offer by engaging directly with SME and micro-businesses to determine their skills needs and co-design bespoke programmes to enhance business sustainability and performance.

As economic stabilisation is a critical objective in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, through this project businesses will be invited to share business challenges and collaborate on skills projects and pilot courses.

European Social Fund
