My Story:
Having completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at the University of Gloucestershire, it was returning to Cornwall and teaching on the Personal Professional Development course at Truro College that was the start of Jazmin’s lecturing career as she started studying the PGCE at the University Centre alongside teaching. After initally teaching Health and Social care at Penwith College, Jazmin moved to Callywith College when it opened in 2019.
Jazmin said: “I knew when I was doing my A Levels that I wanted to be a teacher, that’s why I went to university, and I loved it.”
“I’ve found here on the PGCE they support you more than at University, the lecturers were really good, they give you guidance.”
“Teaching is hard work but lovely to see all the students get their university places, then they go on and you know you’ve helped them getting to where they want to go. We’ve had loads on Health and Social Care that have gone on to be nurses and other things.”
Jazmin was at Callywith College when they recieved Ofsted Outstanding and said: “It was amazing, everybody was buzzing. It’s what everyone had been working towards.”
