Ambitious Amy has set her sights on a career in the Foreign Office, after being awarded a place at Oxford University to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Amy currently studies French, Economics and History at A Level, although she has taken a particular interest in the Economics course.

Amy commented: “I’m really enjoying Economics, that’s what I want to go on to study. I really like the real-world application of it. All the lectures are really relevant to things I’m interested in.”

Choosing Truro College for its ‘really good reputation’, Amy praises her lecturers and the College’s Oxbridge Academy for all their help in getting her this far: “With writing personal statements, [my lecturers] were really helpful with things to include and what to leave out.

“The Oxbridge Academy was really helpful in terms of what to focus on and what extra reading I could do.”

With her sights set on a career in Global Politics, Amy says: “I want to go into the Foreign Office, working in embassies abroad and helping UK nationals in other countries.”
