Subjects studied: Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Level 3 Diploma in Nail Services
Former school: Richard Lander, Truro
What’s next: Own and work in a salon
My story:
Using the skills and techniques that she learnt on her course, Brooke worked her way up from the Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy into the Level 3 Diploma in Nail Services, all while creating her business project. Brooke adapted to new change and used her initiative to help keep her business running through the Covid pandemic by creating press-on nails. As the popularity of the nails grew, so did her increasing client base and followers on Instagram.
Brooke said: “People weren’t able to get their nails done at the time as they couldn’t go to salons, so I created press-on nails which I designed and distributed.
“I have a nail salon at home where I can take clients on whenever they want, so I will be continuing to do that and also work part time.
“My advice for anyone looking to do the course is stay on top of your theory work. It’s better to do it there and then, otherwise it builds up over time and is harder to complete.
“In the future I would like to either work in a salon or have my own, so that’s the plan!”
