My story:
Jack’s passion for cars and love of problem-solving lead him to the Transport Maintenance course at Truro and Penwith College. The tailored learning approach and practicality of his course suits Jack’s needs and has helped him to feel supported throughout his studies.Â
Jack said: “I chose to do an Automotive course because I have always loved cars and this course being mostly practical suits me. I love problem-solving, being able to get stuck in and get my hands dirty. The staff are so supportive and with only 30% theory it suits me because I am dyslexic.
“Penwith College felt like it had the best learning environment out of all the college’s I applied for. It is perfectly situated close to town and has good bus access. The staff are so supportive and always available to help you.
“If you make a mistake in a lesson staff won’t focus on what you did wrong, but instead will focus on what you can do to resolve the problem.
“My lecturers always consider each individual they are teaching and will tailor the programme to suit their needs.”
