A creative talent in the making, Truro and Penwith College student Imogen flourished during her artistic journey on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art, Design & Communication.
Originally from Penryn, Imogen’s compositional aspirations were recently realised after she swept the winners’ award at this year’s Eat Art Picture Framing competition, recognising emerging expressive talent in Cornwall. Imogen received plaudits for her stunning collection of artwork produced during her time at Truro and Penwith College.
Speaking on the accolade, Imogen commented: “I’m really shocked. My pieces were inspired by Kessel Quarry, a very sentimental place for myself. All my pieces were designed around specific moments, different times, different weathers and different moods.”
Reflecting on her time at the College, Imogen credited the community spirit and support she received from her tutors: “I came to Truro College because it felt like a community. Everyone I met was very friendly and the staff were very welcoming. The staff have been very supportive and understanding; they push you to go in your own direction.
Imogen is currently planning to study Interior Architecture at Falmouth University, and was keen to offer her own personal advice for any prospective students considering studying the course: “Go in with your own creative perspective, because everything is art. Give everything your best shot.”
