Course: Skills Bootcamp in Property Maintenance

Chris, a former swimming pool manager, wanted to expand his skill set with practical knowledge for home projects and a potential career change.

With no prior construction experience, Chris initially found some aspects challenging. “I got to try a bit of everything, and even though some tasks were tricky at first, the support from the tutor made all the difference,” he recalled. “It’s amazing how much you can learn in just one day a week!”

The course’s one-day-a-week structure allowed Chris to balance learning with work, while the hands-on approach gave him experience in multiple trades including carpentry, plastering and tiling. As his skills improved, so did his confidence.

For Chris, the greatest benefits were twofold: “The best part was gaining skills I could use straight away at home,” he said, while also getting to explore construction as a potential career path. The experience helped him decide whether to pursue further qualifications in the industry.

His advice to others? “Give it a go! You may learn a little or you may learn a lot. The course is suitable for everyone, no matter your skill level.”

The Skills Bootcamp in Property Maintenance offers the perfect opportunity to develop real-world skills, whether for DIY projects or professional development. With its supportive environment and flexible schedule, it’s ideal for anyone looking to gain practical trade knowledge.
