Eden Project has partnered with Truro and Penwith College for many years across a variety of programmes and Apprenticeships.
Dawn George, Director of HR and Inclusion at Eden Project, said: “The support from the College is second to none and we know from Apprentice feedback they have a superior learning experience, with great results. This has been at multiple levels from Apprentice to Senior Management and feedback is always excellent.
“I think it says a lot that many of our Apprentices who have studied via Truro and Penwith College have gone on to be employed on permanent contracts with Eden and progressed in their careers.”
Tom Connolly, from Camelford, is a fantastic example of a recent success story having made significant contributions to the business during his Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
Tom gained permanent employment with a promotion to the role of International Administrator and was shortlisted for the prestigious Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards in November 2021.
After completing his studies at College Tom was excited to try something new and successfully applied for the Apprenticeship opportunity at Eden.
Tom said: “I have developed both professionally and personally following my Apprenticeship with Truro and Penwith College and the Eden Project. The diverse skills, knowledge and understanding the course has given me has provided me with the confidence to throw myself into any task or opportunity that arises. This helps me feel part of the successful International Eden Project Team.
“The learning, support and guidance I received from the College has been truly amazing, both in-person and virtually, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be forever grateful to all those at the College; tutors, lecturers, training advisors and many more as it has made me into the person I am today.”
