Course: Welding and Fabrication Bootcamp

My Story:

Forging a New Career Through Welding.

Laurie brought a wealth of experience from roles as an outdoor instructor and youth worker before deciding to expand their skill set.

Keen to strike while the iron was hot, they enrolled in the Welding and Fabrication Skills Bootcamp at Truro and Penwith College, seeking a hands-on skill set with strong industry prospects.

Initially, Laurie had some apprehensions about switching careers, but the structured support from the college helped them navigate the course with ease, ensuring there were no meltdowns along the way!

The flexible and supportive learning environment made balancing the bootcamp with personal life manageable, allowing Laurie to fully engage with the training.

For Laurie, the practical, hands-on experience was the highlight: “The best thing about the course is the hands-on experience” he said.

This approach not only built confidence but also opened doors to a new career path. The excellent lecturer further enhanced the learning experience, providing high-quality mentorship throughout.

The bootcamp removed any hesitation about retraining, proving it’s never too late to learn a new trade. Now, Laurie approaches the future with optimism, excited to see where this skillset leads, whether in welding, fabrication, or beyond.

Laurie’s experience demonstrates how a Skills Bootcamp can successfully facilitate a career change, providing practical skills, confidence, and a pathway to a brighter future.
