After two years of hard work and dedication over 1,600 A Level, Vocational Diploma and T Level students collected their results in August. With almost 1,000 students leaving College having secured entry to their first-choice university, this year is the culmination of their efforts and diligence, supported through the care, expertise and dedication of our excellent staff.
With an expansive knowledge of the Information Technology and Digital industries within Cornwall, Richard has 25-years of experience under his belt and has hundreds of ex-students working within IT within the county.
After leaving school, Richard worked firstly for Kipling Cakes, and then spent 12 years as a Regional Sales Manager for Cadbury. After leaving Cadbury, Richard re-trained for the IT service industry before moving into the educational sector as an IT lecturer. He then held posts as an IT Academies Manager, IT Curriculum Area manager, Corporate Lead for IT & Digital and finally the Team Lead for Digital & Computing at another FE provider with whom he stayed with for 20 years.
He has a proven track record of working with organisations to design and implement high quality learning strategies and deliver high value-added experiences for students studying IT courses. He is also a very experienced internal lead IV officer and senior education manager. Richard also sat on the CompTIA organisation’s Academic Steering group for over 15 years and has a wide knowledge of the industries qualifications and requirements.
Richard’s style is collaborative and open communication, which enables him to quickly develop and build highly productive professional relationships. Richard is actively looking at the needs for Level 4 and above qualifications for Digital support and Software Development, and Apprenticeships to enable Cornish Tech industries to make the most of the talent that is in the county and grow their own employees.
