Course Attended: ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management

GreenGenUK, a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, recently had three of their key staff members complete the ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification through Truro and Penwith College. This training has had a significant impact, not only on the personal development of the employees but also on the overall efficiency and success of GreenGenUK’s business operations.

One of the key highlights of the course was the opportunity for the participants to explore real issues and challenges facing the business. The training allowed them time for reflection and problem-solving, enabling the team to evaluate and improve existing processes. They also gained valuable insights into how other businesses handle similar challenges, which helped GreenGenUK identify areas where they could improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Jack, Project Manager at GreenGenUK, reflected on the experience: “I enjoyed my time at Truro and Penwith College. It was a great experience that taught me important lessons and helped me build both my confidence and my skills for the future.”

Throughout the course, Jack, Andrew (Operations Manager), and Ben (Electric Team Leader) received strong support from both the college and their organisation. GreenGenUK’s management team ensured they were able to attend classes without disrupting their regular responsibilities by allowing them time out of their weekly work schedules. Their tutor, Paula, played a crucial role, providing all the necessary materials, offering prompt feedback, and giving guidance when needed. This comprehensive support helped the learners stay on track and apply their newly acquired skills directly to their roles at GreenGenUK.

Andrew, commented: “My ILM qualification at Truro and Penwith College provided me with practical skills and fresh perspectives that have been instrumental in advancing my professional and personal development.”

Since completing the ILM Level 3 training, Jack, Andrew, and Ben have seen a significant boost in their confidence and leadership abilities. This has directly influenced their capacity to manage GreenGenUK’s expanding team more effectively. The enhanced skills they gained through the course have also led to meaningful improvements in the company’s operations, such as streamlining office processes, reducing unnecessary trips to wholesalers, and improving the planning and execution of installations. These changes have resulted in greater efficiency, cost savings, and better resource management, contributing to GreenGenUK’s continued success.

Ben, added: “Studying for my ILM qualification at Truro and Penwith College was an invaluable experience, giving me the skills and confidence to grow both personally and professionally.”

Encouraged by the results of the ILM Level 3 training, Jack, Andrew, and Ben are now considering progressing to the ILM Level 5 qualification to further develop their leadership skills. Additionally, there are plans for other employees at GreenGenUK to undertake leadership and management training, ensuring that the entire team continues to grow alongside the business.

GreenGenUK’s staff highly recommend Truro and Penwith College for leadership and management training. They found the structure of the course to be informative, well-paced, and supported by ample guidance from their tutor. They found the location of the course, at the Tregye site, ideal, commenting on it being “quieter and more accessible than the main campus, which allowed for a focused learning environment.” GreenGenUK has also benefited from ongoing support from the college, including a recent visit from Paula, who engaged with the team to understand how they had applied the skills learned during the course.

The ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management course has enabled GreenGenUK to streamline operations, strengthen leadership across the team, and reinforce their commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable energy solutions. With a promising future ahead, GreenGenUK remains dedicated to ongoing professional development, ensuring they continue to lead the way in the renewable energy sector.

We are excited to continue our partnership as they explore further ILM-accredited courses and bespoke workshops tailored to their evolving needs. Their strong emphasis on staff development has positioned GreenGenUK as a sought-after employer, with high levels of employee retention and satisfaction.
